In 1940, the Chris-Craft shipyard introduced a new hull shape and named it the torpedo stern or barrel stern. Well-preserved Chris-Craft Barrel Backs are among the most sought-after Chris-Craft sports boats today. Thanks to the DUMAS kit, anyone can own this classic.
The hull is constructed using a keel and frame construction method. Precision laser-cut parts allow for rapid construction. The double planking with plastic panels and mahogany veneer is complemented by fine wood planking on the deck. Preformed plastic seats and chrome-plated fittings complete the scale look. Rudder, propeller shaft, colored decals, a US flag, and a pennant are also included.
1:1 blueprints and 60-page German assembly instructions provide clear instructions on how to assemble the model.
An electric motor, speed controller, battery, and remote control are also required for the RC equipment. Depending on the power of the drive, it may be advisable to replace the propeller shaft and propeller with higher-quality models.
