The original "Lemsteraak" ship was launched in 1876 at the "Gebr. de Boer" shipyard in Lemmer, Friesland. The Catalina was originally designed as a fishing boat and operated in the northern part of the Zuiderzee, where shipping is not without its challenges due to strong tides and headwinds. Therefore, a ship was needed that was maneuverable and also had to have an adequate sail area.
Mamoli shipbuilding kits have been very popular for many years. A large selection of different models and classic design features at an attractive price characterize this series. Now, it has been technically updated through the acquisition of the Dusek company. Today, all kits are manufactured using modern laser technology, ensuring a high degree of precision fit.
