  • Ideal as a privacy screen and nesting site, as well as a food source for birds
  • Potato rose as a wild rose with cherry-red blossoms, bee-friendly and with an intense fragrance
  • Rowan as a flower and fruit ornament with picturesque growth, bee pasture, bird feeding shrub
  • Black-green privet as a miracle hedge with rocket growth

Unfortunately, natural bird nesting sites are becoming increasingly rare; with this hedge set, you give the birds back a piece of nature. The hedges are not only suitable as shelter or nesting sites. They also provide natural food for the birds. The hedge is suitable for a height of approximately 3 meters.

The Potato rose is the right choice for anyone looking for a bee-friendly, absolutely robust rose with natural blooms. For months, it adorns itself with pink to violet blossoms in small umbels. They open wide to reveal their golden-yellow stamens, which attract numerous beneficial insects such as bees and bumblebees. Colorful butterflies also flutter around the Red Apple Rose, beautifully enlivening the garden. Not only do these beautiful flowers appear in remarkably abundant numbers, but they also emit a tantalizingly intense fragrance! Thus, the Apple Rose not only enriches the native greenery as an insect pasture, but also enriches every bed and open space with its fragrance and radiant blossoms. Furthermore, the so-called Potato Rose grows particularly densely and broadly bushy, making it ideal for hedge planting. This makes it a picturesque and flower-rich property border! In autumn, the Red Apple Rose becomes an eye-catcher once again: At this time, its foliage shines a brilliant golden yellow. At the same time, it is adorned with an abundance of bright orange-red rose hips. These can be processed into jam or healthy teas. Alternatively, we can leave this wild fruit hanging for our garden birds, who will enjoy this food source after the first frost.

The mountain ash grows as a large shrub or small tree with a light crown and rich, dark green foliage. From late May to June, the white flower clusters appear, providing abundant food for bees. From August onward, the reddish rowan berries, also called whitebeams, appear. They can remain hanging well into winter, making the mountain ash an important bird food tree. From October onward, it also displays a picturesque, vibrant orange autumn color. Whether planted in larger gardens in community gardens or as a solitary tree, the rowan tree is always undemanding.

Privet Atrovirens (Ligustrum vulgare Atrovirens), also called black-green privet, is ideal for gardeners looking for fast-growing hedge plants. When newly planted and after heavy pruning, Ligustrum Atrovirens grows up to 1 meter in height per year. Its bushy growth makes it a consistently dense hedge plant that adds natural structure to your garden. The large, white panicle flowers of the privet lend a classic touch to your garden with their attractive blossoms and exude a very pleasant fragrance. In the shade of larger trees, the privet remains significantly smaller, grows more broadly, and develops into a dense undergrowth. It is an ideal habitat for animal companions such as birds and hedgehogs. The leaves change in spring, but in the first few years, the leaves often fall off in winter, before new growth appears.
