Zadaj pytanie, aby dowiedzieć się więcej o produkcieEspecially strong, but also weak, bumblebee colonies can be attacked by wax moth caterpillars. Ensure that the nesting box is always well sealed. Strong bumblebee colonies usually guard the entrance well, so the wax moth will try to enter the box from the outside through every crack. If it succeeds, the colony is usually lost without complex countermeasures.
This wax moth barrier offers help against wax moths.
Important: The bumblebee house must have additional ventilation options, such as small holes in the side wall.
The flap is not needed during the colony establishment phase. As soon as the first workers fly out, the flap is folded down.
Tip:
Check the bumblebee house regularly. If an infestation is left untreated, the larvae develop very quickly and destroy the entire nest and the box.
How do I recognize wax moths?
Webs: Wax moths leave tunnels that look like a dense spider web: They use these webs to protect themselves from bumblebees.
Dropping: You can see, among other things, small black crumbs on the floor.
White cocoon: The moths spin themselves into a web and burrow into the wood to pupate.
