After scarifying, completely remove all lawn clippings, stones, and any unevenness from the lawn. For a seamless result with the existing lawn, feel free to sow a little beyond the areas to be repaired.

Tip:

1. Scarifying

First, mow the lawn as low as possible using the lawnmower's lowest cutting position. This weakens the existing grass and provides the new lawn grasses with a better starting point. The short lawn is now scarified intensively, both lengthwise and crosswise. Scarification must be done thoroughly, as this is the only way the new grass seeds have full contact with the soil and provide good conditions for germination and development. This also allows water, air, and nutrients to reach the grass roots. If the lawn is heavily covered in moss and thatch, we recommend applying a special moss killer a few days before scarifying.

2. Apply COMPO SAAT Scarifying Mix

Completely remove all grass clippings, stones, and any uneven surfaces from the lawn. Spread the mixture of lawn seed, lawn fertilizer, and soil activator evenly by hand, rake in the COMPO SAAT Scarifying Mix, and lightly press it down. For a seamless finish with the existing lawn, sow slightly beyond the areas to be repaired. Depending on the intensity of scarification, an application rate of approximately 30–40 g/m² is recommended. If scarifying has created larger gaps in the lawn, the application rate may need to be increased slightly.

3. Watering

After scarifying and applying the scarifying mix, the treated lawn must be watered regularly and intensively, and the young seedlings must be kept moist at all times! This way, the scarifying mix makes repairing and refreshing the lawn easy, quick, and perfect. The freshly reseeded lawn should be mowed for the first time when the blades are at least 8 cm long, with the grass cut back to a maximum length of 6 cm.
