The shear bolt connects the auger to its drive shaft. In the event of an unintentional blockage of the auger, it acts as a predetermined breaking point. Once the bolt breaks, the auger is no longer driven, thus preventing damage to the rotating parts. After replacing the bolt, the snow blower is ready for operation again in no time with just a few simple steps. This increases the longevity of the device; maintenance and repair costs are significantly reduced.
